DeleteI just hope I can whether this storm dealing with my mom dying from Alzheimer's!
ReplyDeleteDear Mona,
DeleteIn terms of storms, taking care of a parent with Alzheimer's is a hurricane. It used to be common that when a person needed something, they just asked, and help was provided. Think about pioneers and barn building. Whenever someone needed a barn, the whole village went and built it in a day. Many can accomplish in a short time what one could never do alone.
I did a search online for Alzheimer's support groups and there are SO many. You're not expected to take this on alone. These support groups just would not exist if there was no need for them.
If you accept help now when you need it, you'll likely be able to offer help from a firsthand perspective someday when someone else needs it. This is what it is to be human.
