Who is always right? Pessimist, or Optimist?

The pessimist
is always waiting for the bad news in good times,
always expecting some unexpected bad luck,
never enjoying the good,
and knowing that good times won’t last forever.
Always anticipating everything to be a let-down someday,
which always happens eventually.

The optimist
is always waiting for the good news in bad times,
is always expecting some unexpected good luck,
always enjoying the good,
and knowing that bad times won’t last forever.
Always anticipating everything to be worthwhile someday,
which always happens eventually.

The truth is, life is a series of ups and downs, good and bad,
one leading to the other, and back again. It won’t be until
our very last breath, our very last moment on earth,
that we will truly know if the end was worthwhile or a let-down,
and who was right all along. But at that point, it won’t really matter.

The end is only the very last moment. What really matters,
were the millions of moments before it,
and if we enjoyed every possible one that we could.
